  Firstly, we booked private lessons as a refesher course at Kite Center Zanzibar. The two instructors (Pam & Maba) were super kind and explained everything very well. Then, we rented... read more the equipement for several days. Stayn (the manager) helped always to find the right size of the kite and if the wind dropped we could easily change it with the help of the beach boys.

If you would rent the equipement in another kite center with locals you would pay a bit less. However, the quality and the maintance of the equipement as well as the service was us worthy to pay a bit more.

Therefore, we highly recommend this kite center!

The equipment is very good. All Duotone; I had the chance to use brand new kites.
My friend also took beginner courses and she really enjoyed the lessons. She was able to stand up in 3 days. The teachers speak so many languages you will find someone who will speak yours.
Finally, the team is really fun and nice. The owner of the place is always smiling and sharing his positive spirit around him.
When I return to Zanzibar, I will definitively come back to Kite Center! Akuna Matata!

Baris was the guy that welcomed us and helped us make a program for the time there. In the first day he went out and showed us how to control the kite, etc.

After that, his instructors took over and did a great job on the water with us. With a lot of patience and good technic they taught us everything.

Baris was always observing us to make sure we were having fun and learning. The instructor Mo did a great job teaching me everyday in the water and Baris complemented it amazingly: with some simple yet really important tips and some explanations he was the one that made me ride the board for the first time. The guy is not only good in what he does, but also a cool guy. His goal seems to be you fall in love with the sport.

If you have zero experience in kiting and want to learn having fun, go to Zanzibar, go to the Kite Center and see all to Baris. He’ll help you get there!

He... read more brought his GoPro and made photos and videos which he sent me later (without extra charge). I can totally recommend this school, if you want to learn kite-surfing. Btw, it takes some time to learn it, even just to be able to basic-ride over the water takes time because you just have to learn controlling the kite first.

Our instructor Baris was a really cool... read more and fun guy but at the same time he was such a professional - he always watched after us, explained everything into detail, kept repeating the steps with us until we got better and was very responsible. This was especially important to me because at first I was quite scared of the kite. Baris made me feel safe and made it fun at the same time :)).
My husband took a short private lesson the last day, Baris gave him instructions via a walkie talkie and I could see that my husband made such a huge progress during this short lesson!
I'm really happy we opted for Kitecenter Zanzibar which is a high quality school. When practicing, we saw some instructors from other cheaper schools which were acting so irresponsibly when teaching tourists. One of them actually crashed its kite into my husband's because they simply don't follow the general safety rules. Please don't try to save money on kitesurfing lessons, it can get dangerous and you also won't learn much.

I'm 53 yrs old and had tried kitesurfing in Denmark 2 years ago, approx 3-4 times in the water, with a instruktor and fellow kite beginner. But didn't managed to get up on board an sail.

So I went to Zanzibar Paje and kitesurfed with kite centre instruktor Mo, wonderful warm and witty local guy, everyday for 12 days and proudly learned to kite. Everyday I advanced a little bit with the help from Mo. Just magic.

The guys at the kite Centre, Stijn and Båris, was extremely kind and thoughtfull towards me and I felt very welcome. Stijn even went into the water an took som pictures/videos of me asa surprise, which I happily shared with family and friends back in Denmark.
